Shop For A Cause - Take That, Covid!!!

The numbers are staggering; 10% of CT Covid cases have ended in death; over 3.8 million people have filed for unemployment nationwide. It’s a little too much to handle.

I started asking myself, what can we do to help? Cinder + salt is a micro business; we don’t have much. But we’re always finding ways to use what we have to make this Earth a better place.

You know what we do have? A temporarily closed store that’s stocked full of inventory. That’s a lot of stagnant cash sitting on shelves and swinging from hangers. Perhaps, I thought, if we could turn these beautiful things back into money, we could donate that money to those in need.

But… everyone is in need. Eek!

As a small business, nestled on Main Street, we get donation requests  ALL. THE. TIME. It’s difficult to say no to all the important causes out there, but it’s also impossible to say yes to everything. We've had to focus our efforts on specific causes that align with our company values, and for the next seven months we’ve chosen charities that complement our collections so that we can all give back together.

Introducing our Shop For A Cause Calendar!
